Deciding to adopt the habits of a professional.
In marketing (and in life) this means:
Endless OODA loops.
Not getting comfortable.
Not relying on Chance I: Blind luck.
A “this might work” attitude.
Matching patterns but not reasoning by analogy.
Still sending an email even though it’s 5:05pm Central on a Friday.
But really, this was just an excuse to quote Pressfield, the Turning Pro man himself:
“When we turn pro, everything becomes simple. Our aim centers on the ordering of our days in such a way that we overcome the fears that have paralyzed us in the past.
We now structure our hours not to flee from fear, but to confront it and overcome it. We plan our activities in order to accomplish an aim. And we bring our will to bear so that we stick to this resolution…
It changes what we do and what we don’t do…
…we are not amateurs anymore.”
